Believe it or not, there is a multitude of ways of burning pictures onto a CD! So, how does one do it? Well, we’re going to be covering those methods in three separate parts down below. Starting off with how to burn pictures to CD on Windows, then Mac, and finally, a third option that you might find preferring if not for convenience’s sake then for the high-quality discs that come from it! So, make sure to read till the very end if you want to learn how to burn pictures to a CD properly!

Part 1. How to Burn Pictures to CD on Windows Computer

As mentioned, our first tutorial will be on how to burn pictures to CD on Windows. For this, we’re going to be using Windows 8 as our example — but most of the recent Windows OS computers have these features in slightly varying styles. You won’t need anything special to use this built-in feature, just make sure that you have a blank disc and driver and then you’re all set to go!

How to Burn Pictures to CD on Windows Computer

Step One: Insert your Disc!

The first thing to do is to insert your blank disc into a blank driver that can be read by your PC. In a couple of seconds, a pop-up should appear on your screen as to how you want to use the disc, if not, then open the File Explorer, go to This PC, and then manually search for your disc. You need only to double-click said disc in order to get the pop-up (shown in the image below.) On this pop-up select the With a CD/DVD player and then click Next to move forward.

Step Two: Drag Pictures or Audio Files

After the previous step, you should automatically be moved onto a blank folder where you can drag and then drop the files that you want to use for your CD. You can also drop audio files onto this folder — allowing you to create a CD with pictures and music alike!

Step Three: Burn!

Part 2. How to Burn Pictures to CD on Mac

Similar to the Windows method, this second one will be taking advantage of a built-in feature in Mac OS computers that will allow you to burn pictures with ease. Of course, there are minor differences in the process, but you will find that once you know how to burn pictures to CD on Windows, then you will know how to burn pictures to CD on Mac as well!

How to Burn Pictures to CD on Mac

Step One: Create a New Folder

The first difference is that rather than creating your special folder (filled with the pictures you want to use) directly onto the disc, you must create a separate folder that will then be burned onto the disc. If you do not already have a folder of the pictures you want to burn, then you can create a new one by right-clicking and choosing the New Folder option.

Step Two: Insert Disc

Once you have your picture folder created, you can then insert the disc that you want to use for your pictures. Allow a couple of seconds for the computer to read the CD and wait for this pop-up to appear (refer to the image below.) You can ignore this pop-up completely, just click “Ignore” and move onto the next step.

Step Three: Burn to Disc!

Referring back to the folder that you created in the first step, select it and then right-click to open up the following drop-down menu (as shown in the image below). On there, locate the option to Burn “_Folder Name_” to Disc… and wait for the pop-up shown in the next step.

Step Four: Burn Pictures to CD with Mac Computer

This final pop-up will offer you a couple of choices:

  • ● Disc Name: Fill in the blank box to name your disc.
  • ● Burn Speed: Choose an appropriate speed — slower speeds tend to result in higher-quality discs.

When you’re ready, click “Burn”, and wait for the burning process to continue without closing your computer or ejecting the disc.
